The Use of Incontinence Pads in Treating Patients
Incontinence pads are similar to adult diapers but are usually not worn all day long. They are typically placed on beds or chairs, so that if the individual suffers an accident, clean up will be relatively easy. These pads are made with impermeable multi-layered sheets and with high absorbency padding. Sometimes these pads refer to diapers as well as liners. Whereas diapers are usually disposable, these special pads can actually be reused after a thorough wash.
These pads come in both light and heavy grade material, appropriate for different types of patience. A person who only occasionally has leakage may have no use for a heavy grade item, and thus may suffer discomfort. However, a person who has a major problem with incontinence (which may be a symptom of another disorder) would probably require a heavy grade pad. (more…)
