Biofreeze Announces New Improved Formula for 2012

For year of 2012, Biofreeze announced a new and improved product line that responded to customer feedback. Although 4 in 5 users of topical analgesic products prefer Biofreeze, Performance Health felt as though they could do even better for their supporters.

Doug Stuckey is the senior project manager for Biofreeze. In a Performance Health article, Stucky recently explained the three major improvements user can expect from the new line:

  • They removed two of the synthetic additives to Biofreeze known to cause reactions: propene glycol and Parabens.

  • The new formula will also contain a skin conditioner that softens skin in order to allow the medicating products to penetrate more deeply on contact.

  • For those who prefer it, or those allergic to dye, Biofreeze will now be available in dye free versions.

The three central pillars to Biofreeze, menthol, camphor and ilex, all remain in the new release. Other important chemicals Biofreeze contains are: green tea, boswellia and calendula.

Available in both four and sixteen-ounce containers for use by professionals, Biofreeze has in the past, and continues to be the industry standard, favored by both patients and clinicians for fast acting and long lasting pain relief.

The formula for their products is simple and effective, but another factor distinguishing Biofreeze from competing companies is their willingness to participate in the health care community. They often support research studies involving their product and educational tools for users.

For example, along with another company named Bon Vital, Biofreeze provided a scholarship fund worth $4,000 to Cortiva Institute School of Massage Therapy. $1,200 will go toward purchasing student textbooks at the twelve locations of the school in the form of three awards.

In another similar gesture of good faith, Biofreeze donated the equivalent of $1.2 million to the U.S. Army in May of 2010 through donation to a charitable organization known as “Support Our Troops”. Support Our Troops is a non-political interest group designed to help American citizens to demonstrate their patriotism and support for American troops abroad as they support American families and homes.

Kurt Schlote, a veteran of the US army and a manager of the western division of Performance Health, the umbrella company of Biofreeze products, said he was proud to be able to support currently stationed troops and expressed the sentiment that all veterans in an able position, should donate money and other resources as well.
